Mathedu was established by Fabienne and François Chaplais with the aim of imparting practical mathematics education to higher education students.

Fabienne holds a degree in Agrégation de Mathématiques, which is the highest qualification in France for teaching mathematics up to undergraduate level. In addition, she has a background as an R&D engineer, providing applied mathematics services to industries in the high technology sector such as Space, Military, and Railway systems.

François is an alumnus of École Polytechnique, the top engineering school in France, and has a PHD in applied mathematics. Furthermore, he has retired as a researcher in applied mathematics from Mines Paritech, another prestigious engineering school in France.
